Dane got his much-anticipated first train ride on the Metra this weekend, from the platform near our house all the way to Geneva, for a fine dinner at one of our favorite restaurants Front Street Cocina. Dane got his own plate, which he was only semi interested in, but afterward, we walked the main street, finding a Thomas the Train blow-up, played in a fountain and made a new friend while getting wet. Overall, it was a very successful trip and Dane has been asking, "Maybe someday we ride on train again?" frequently. We love seeing him get excited about things!
He insisted on climbing every set of steps by himself.
Ari downing Dane's leftover quesadilla.
"Thomas so happy he need kisses."
Here it comes! (one of the 40 trains that were outbound before our inbound train arrived)
Testing the waters, literally.
Slightly damp hair, no big deal.
New friend, it's a boy, pure encouragement to push the boundaries.
Oh, forget it, I'm going all in!
And this is how it ended. Chasing each other in circles around the planters for about 10 minutes, while laughing maniacally. A successful trip.
Looks like fun! I especially love that Thomas is ready for Christmas already :). although I suppose Dane is ready for Halloween, so it's fitting.
