We are tired. Aria is still not sleeping well at night, sleeping about 4 hours max on a good night. We have been trying to find the best way to cover the night feeds to maximize sleep. Most recently we have had me staying up for the late feed, ~11pm (which is hard because I'm definitely not a night person) and Larissa covers any feeds after midnight. Not perfect for either of us, but no better solutions at this point. Add to this the fact that Dane is teething big time, trying to push out some molars, and he isn't sleeping too well, either.
One thing keeping us alive right now has been help from the grandparents. This past weekend Grandma and Grandpa Anderson came to visit. It was great to have them send us both to bed early and have them cover the last feeds...both so that we could both be asleep at the same time and allowing us to get more sleep than normal and even sleep in in the mornings. I actually slept almost 24 hours out of the 48 hours last weekend (more than the previous 4 or 5 nights!). Then this past week Larissa's mom has been down here. It has been really nice for us to have her here while I'm back at work and not able to be as helpful at the house.
We know that the grandparents enjoy spending time with their grandkids, but we really have appreciated the help. It has been the only thing allowing us to survive some days. We are just counting down until Aria decides to start sleeping better and we can start catching up on sleep. It gets easier, right?
It most definitely gets better...but you also just get used to surviving on less sleep! (grin) Thank GOODNESS your family is nearby...both sets of grandparents have earned my deepest respect as I've read your blog over the last year.
