Ari's Birthday...month

Ari turned 2 on Sept. 13th, and here's a little snapshot of our sunny, sweet, sassy daughter as a 2 year old.

She loves Dora, cheese crackers, popsicles, playing outside, building forts, her grandmas, and most recently, tutu's, singing and dancing. Ari is exploring her own personality and ability to make decisions on her own, which is kind of a nice way of saying that she's being a little defiant. But she's also super sensitive to when she's hurting someone's feelings and can roll with the punches better than Dane by far. She's quick to say "I'm sorry for ..." She loves her big brother, and would follow him off a cliff, which it sometimes feels like he might do. She has a funny sense of humor, often purposefully substituting goofy words in songs until we notice and start singing along. "Twinkle, twinkle, little cheese." Her favorites change daily, hourly even, and she's super bubbly when she's gotten enough sleep. She's currently getting her 2-year molars, so she's been a little sleep deprived lately. She starts the day by saying, "I love you mama! I just woke up 10 minutes." Every day, she just woke up 10 minutes ago:) She's amazing at shapes, colors, can count to 20, and has a fantastic vocabulary, thanks in part to Dane. She is a mama's girl, but has been especially sweet with her Daddy lately, giving him tons of hugs, kisses, and snuggles. I think he's in love:)

We had the pleasure of celebrating multiple times, with cupcakes each time, Ari's new favorite food. She's 97th percentile for height and 60th for weight, which means she's a tall stringbean these days.  A constantly running, hopping, twirling stringbean.

Happy 2nd birthday, beautiful girl!

First Day of School!

We can't believe it, but Dane is starting preschool. His first day was Sept. 7, and I was way more nervous than he was. We had picked out the bookbag (Batman), the binder (green), and bought some awesome new "superfast shoes". Dane did great and has since been a total champ. Life goes so fast, and we are reminded of that with ever-increasing frequency these days. Love our little school boy; we are so proud:)

Last blast of summer

We had a great, busy summer, including a graduation, move to WI, starting a new job, and continuing to grow more pregnant by the day. Here are some pics from a couple trips and visitors that ended our summer with a bang.

A visit from Gma and Gpa Moyer.
My 31st b-day celebration at the lake with Andersons.

Hanging out with Uncle Dave and...is that Rod Stewart?
The next weekend, we headed back to the lake to scatter Grandma Karin's ashes with the family. It was a very special moment, with only about an hour of beautiful sun as we went out. We will always remember it.

Dane playing with the much coveted Stomp Rocket.
Checking out the Children's Museum for the first time. Not bad.
A family pic in preparation for Dane's upcoming first day of preschool.

Nothing like a huge box, some dish towels and some frozen GoGurt to make a fun summer day.

 Can't forget the chalk!

Chillin' with Dad.

Green Lake!

Here are some of our photos from our first family trip to Green Lake in almost a year! It has been a very busy one, but we were so glad to make it to the lake for Grandma Lorraine's birthday party. We got to spend some time with a lot of extended family we haven't seen in years, and to spend some wonderful time on the water. Beautiful!
First time fishing. Both kids were COMPLETELY. ENGROSSED. They loved it and I'm looking forward to a lot more of this in the future!
Dane even figured out how to cast by himself!
Thumbs up from best buds, Uncle Steve and Dane.
Me and my little sweetie! I'm a little over 30 weeks pregnant here.
Trying out Big Mable for the first time, our brave little Ari!
And Dane was up for it, after nearly falling off the pier, once sis had proven it safe. As long as he had the safety of Dad next to him:)
